I wanted the slowly emerging picture to be out on the walls of my room. I'm a visual person and I need to draw and map things out in front of me else I get lost in the maze of my head. It's why I also get lost in parts of cities where even a child wouldn't get lost. I need visual maps, charts and graphs to make sense of things. I always list my goals, represent them pictorially and draw arrows pointing to them to feel like I am on track.
Anyway, because I was having a hundred thoughts a day I decided to use the same tactic as I use for all other goals in my day - I made a poster.
The poster doesn't give the full picture, but it does distill the essence of what I would ideally like to end up doing. Maybe not start out doing because my friend and I want to do a lot of "dry runs" first to sort out the administrative and logistic issues. But the end goal is what the poster represents.
Just an idea.
Linking global and 'distance micro-financing' groups with young researchers with small town NGOs in a country such as India, and using the volunteer-tourism sector as a basic business model. That's about as far we have taken the concept for our nonprofit.
For now, this is what it looks like in my head.
